From her first caring response to my plea for planning help to her last messages checking in on us as we left the country, Passainte made our trip to Egypt a personalized start-to-finish experience of warmth, learning, adventure, humor and connection. Even though it was high season she managed to find us just the right activities at just the right pace to interest and please all the members of the family–food, tours, guides, transport, places to stay. She made sure we made it to the traditional sites (with key tips like taking advantage of the late hours at the GEM on Wednesdays) but she also got us off the beaten path and into the community to learn about and support local projects. She went above and beyond when our needs changed, attended to the needs of the vegetarian in the group, and made it incredibly easy to put ourselves in the caring hands of various guides and hosts.
